Home Dėcor & Design: A Natural Inclination
Over the weekend I came across my collection of “tear sheets” — accordion folders chock full of magazine clippings collected through the years since I was a little girl. I pulled out my “kitchen” inspo folder, and it looks familiar! My new kitchen (the first one I have designed for myself) definitely proves that my inclination towards classic, timeless interiors has not changed since March 1998 when I clipped this Traditional Home kitchen. I was 13. Another kitchen clipping from Southern Living March 2007 looks familiar, too!
Summer Vignette
I went to the beach last weekend and found some pretty shells to add to my trinket table. School starts soon, but summer is still here!
My Formal Living Room
I think I finally have this room set like I want it (for now = #chronicrearranger). I love that it is traditional, Southern and colorful. The settees were my mama’s and were a thread-bare yellow fabric. I had them reupholstered, and they look so good. It’s my way of doing Southern traditional with a Grandmillennial twist.
One Year Ago — An Estate Sale Meet Cute
One year ago today, a girl walked into an estate sale and met a house. She thought it had good bones, charm, character and tons of potential. She walked through the rooms dreaming of ways to bring them back to life. She meandered through the overgrown yard and envisioned a beautiful southern cottage garden. The romance began. And, the rest — they say — is history.
A Little Kitchen Before & After
While I am still settling in and have much more on the list of things I need and want to do to this house, the kitchen is complete. And it is a dream. I thought I would share a little before and after and some of the details!
